" Franco's Settlers " is a splendid, beautifully constructed and important film about a vital subject matter, one of the best on the previously unspoken, or hidden, modern history of Spain. I've researched Spain’s post Civil War period myself but Franco's settlements were new to me, as were many stories in the film, and this appalling experiment in social engineering came as a shock. Yet the film is well balanced and, most importantly, allows all sides speak for themselves. The archive footage, much of which not seen for decades, and the numerous contemporary interviews only confirms how heavily Franco’s shadow still hangs over Spain. Llenen las salas y reconocerán el pasado reciente de una nación que decidió olvidar para seguir manteniendo el mismo orden que impusieron las armas. Y así seguimos... La mirada de Lucía Palacios y Dietmar Post es sobrecogedora y a la vez muy clarificadora. Camera's Live at HBC set was filmed in Berlin for Play Loud! (Live) Music Series, and it features contributions from Dieter Moebius (Cluster), Michael Rother (Neu!) and Shaun Mulrooney (Admiral Black). Floating di Morel: Goal Less Play – Review Since the band’s foundation in 1994, Berlin-based Floating di Morel are known for leaving both audience and critics somewhere between sincere appreciation and genuine confusion. With almost rudimentary equipment and (to outsiders) quite unpredictable intentions, the trio has been cultivating a pretty bizarre mix of lo-fi psychedelic rock’n roll and minimal-postpunk-industrial avant-garde (according to the members’ own description) – a sound which, so to speak, screamingly contrasts with their neat appearance and decent clothing. Apparently that sound puts on many listeners and critics an intellectual strain so big that it constantly supplies fuel for controversial debates on musical aesthetics.
