Eine neue Methode, die Eberhard Fechner und andere große Gesprächsfilmemacher*innen heute nutzen würden Ein Kommentar von Filmemacher C. Cay Wesnigk nachdem er den Film im Hamburger 3001 Kino gesehen hatte Ich fand den Film wirklich toll. Nicht eine Sekunde habe ich mich gelangweilt. Meine Angst war, dass man zu so später Stunde irgendwie wegduselt. Das passierte aber überhaupt nicht.  Zur Machart des Films - ich finde sie wirklich faszinierend, denn man merkt dem Schnitt gar nicht an, dass du fünf Stunden gedreht hast. Wenn du mir gesagt hättest, du hast das in einem Take gedreht und warst eben gut vorbereitet, hätte ich dir das geglaubt. Das ist eine unglaubliche Leistung, vor allem auch das Timing, das du in dem Gespräch gehabt hast, denn trotz des Schnitts hast du immer wieder auch weggeschwenkt auf den Monitor weg von Mona und das schien mir live zu sein. Radikale Konsequenz Ein Portrait, ein Setting, eine Kamera, eine Einstellung   Wie ein roter Faden zieht sich durch den ganzen Film eine radikale Konsequenz, die wahrscheinlich den Charakter und sicher den beruflichen Werdegang der Protagonistin Mona Mur ziemlich gut nachzeichnet. Das minimalistische, sich nicht verändernde Gesprächs-Setting ist mit seinen Farben und in seiner scheinbaren Einfachheit so wirkungsvoll und präsent wie die Protagonistin selbst. Da sind keine Ablenkungen, die unsere Aufmerksamkeit schweifen ließen. Im Gegenteil: Wir können von Anfang an in einer spannenden Musikbiografie mit klarer Struktur eintauchen.
