GABI DELGADO / MARC HURTADO - NEUE WELTUMFASSENDE RESISTANCE - Upcoming Release on play loud!
Dear friends, customers and partners,
We are excited to announce the release of a long-awaited album, a powerful testament to the creative synergy between two artists: Gabi Delgado (DAF, DELKOM, DAF DOS), the Spanish-born German composer, lyricist, and producer, and Marc Hurtado, the multidisciplinary French artist behind ÉTANT DONNÉS and SOL IXENT.
Their collaboration began in Berlin in 2007, with their paths crossing again in Córdoba in 2014 and 2018, blending their distinct voices into a unique artistic fusion. Now, two decades after the birth of their shared project, a double album showcases that collaboration and the fruits of their creative journey.
Gabi Delgado and Marc Hurtado founded the project “Neue Weltumfassende Resistance” (New World-wide Resistance) in 2004. Between then and 2018, they recorded numerous works together and performed twice—once at the IDEAL Festival in Nantes and again at LUFF in Lausanne in 2006.
The essence of NWR lies in the exchange of music and poetry between Delgado and Hurtado, conceived as a dialogue transmitted via electronic media between Germany, Spain, and France. Their collaboration unfolds as a kind of 360° cinematic voyage.
Although Gabi Delgado tragically passed away in 2020, his vision lives on. This album stands as both a tribute to the golden alliance between Delgado and Hurtado, and the beginning of their shared fight for artistic freedom—a collaboration that was never meant to be limited by time or circumstance.
ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Gabi Delgado grew up in Córdoba (Spain). His family moved to Germany when he was 8 years old ("My father had to leave Spain under Franco"), where they lived in Remscheid, Wuppertal, Dortmund and Düsseldorf. He was best known as the singer and co-founder—alongside Robert Görl in 1978—of the pioneering German electronic band Deutsch Amerikanische Freundschaft (DAF), with whom he released seven albums. In 1990, he formed the band Delkom with Saba Komossa, and in 1995, he launched DAF/DOS with Wotan Wilke. Delgado also released four solo albums throughout his career. He passed away in 2020.
Marc Hurtado (musician, performer, poet, painter, producer, and filmmaker) co-founded in 1977 the influential experimental duo ÉTANT DONNÉS with his brother Eric Hurtado. In 2002, he launched his solo project Sol Ixent, which included a collaborative album with Saba Komossa. Over the course of his career, Hurtado has released more than 30 albums and worked with a wide range of renowned artists, including Alan Vega, Genesis P-Orridge, Lydia Lunch, Michael Gira, Craig Walker, Pascal Comelade, Vomir, Z'EV, Christophe, Mark Cunningham, John Duncan, and Bachir Attar of the Master Musicians of Jajouka.

Listen to the album
The film “Mona Mur in Conversation” by Dietmar Post offers a compelling glimpse into the extraordinary life and career of an artist who has been a defining force in the German music scene since the 1980s. As a key figure of the German underground scene in the 1980s, Mona Mur combined post-punk, industrial, and experimental electronics with a bold pop sensibility—always characterized by her unmistakable voice and artistic vision. Throughout her career, she has worked with, among others, En Esch (KMFDM), FM Einheit, Mark Chung, and Alexander Hacke (Einstürzende Neubauten), Nikko Weidemann (Moka Efti Orchester), Dieter Meier (Yello), J.J. Burnel and Dave Greenfield (The Stranglers), as well as filmmakers such as Monika Treut, Elfi Mikesch, and Fatih Akin, photographer Ilse Ruppert, and the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra. Mur openly shares insights into her development, her creative decisions, and the challenges she has faced—with wit and clarity. The film is a compelling exploration of the work of an artist who has consistently followed her own path, not conforming to expectations, and continually evolving her craft.
